Dongjak-gu holds cyberbullying prevention talk concert for parents

On the 5th, the BTF Blue Tree Foundation held a talk concert titled ‘Between Us, Closer Than AI’ at the Dongjak-gu Office main auditorium for local parents and residents to prevent school and cyberbullying. This event was organized to expand preventive education from school settings to homes and local communities to establish a youth safety net.

The education went beyond simple lectures and was conducted as a participatory session where parents directly checked their children's cyber safety "Traffic Light" checklists. Experts in counseling, policing, and legal fields participated to present step-by-step roles, from discovering signs of cyberbullying to initial response and post-incident recovery. In particular, experts provided specific explanations on how to secure evidence and respond systematically by cooperating with relevant agencies such as schools and the police when an incident occurs.

As cyberbullying has recently spread beyond the classroom into daily life, an integrated response system that breaks down the boundaries between school and home is becoming increasingly important. This education was significant in that it provided practical guides so that parents could act not merely as monitors, but as supporters who are the first to detect changes in their children.

Lee Jong-ik, Executive Director of the BTF Blue Tree Foundation, stated, “Since children's cyber lives cross between school and home, there are limits to preventive education alone. We will strengthen the safety governance where adults by the children's side, such as schools, police, and professional institutions, move together at the moments help is needed.”
