The EBS program "There Is No Such Thing as a Bad Dog" will air on October 24, 2026, following Jeong-eop in Jeongeup as he preserves the reddish-brown Jeongeup Bulgae breed. The episode will also feature Onsae, a dog who has refused physical contact for over three years and frequently harasses other dogs in the kennel.

The upcoming episode of "There Is No Such Thing as a Bad Dog" will explore the history and mysterious charm of the Bulgae, a native Korean breed, and follow Jeong-eop, who has dedicated his life to discovering and preserving the Jeongeup Bulgae. The episode also features Onsae, a dog who has not allowed his guardian to get close to him for over three years.

In search of the Bulgae—a native breed not as widely known as the Jindo dog, Sapsali, or Pungsan dog—the production team visited Jeongeup in Jeonbuk State. The Bulgae is largely divided into two types: the Yeongju Bulgae, which has reddish-orange fur, and the Jeongeup Bulgae, which is reddish-brown. In this location, the team met Jeong-eop, who raises 20 Bulgae in the deep mountains. The dogs are striking, resembling wolves with red fur covering their bodies, including their eyes and claws.

The 40-day-old Bulgae puppies, born to the mother dog Geomsuni and the father dog Onsae, are living together in a kennel. A special rubber tub is visible in the enclosure; after the mother dog Geomsuni dug a hole to give birth during last summer's heatwave, Jeong-eop placed the rubber tub over it to create a cozy shelter. On the day the 40-day-old puppies were introduced to local elders, the residents were captivated by the breed's charm, each holding a puppy and contemplating their reactions.

While Jeong-eop provides nutritional meals made of finely ground pork head meat to the precious Bulgae and takes them for walks in the mountains and fields, there is one dog that cannot be touched: Onsae. For three years, Onsae has refused to let anyone near him, making it impossible to even touch him, let alone take him for a walk. Furthermore, Onsae exhibits high aggression and frequently harasses the other Bulgae. Recently, his behavior has reportedly disrupted the "newlywed life" of Sinbi, who has started a life with Okgeomi. The episode will reveal whether Teacher Seol can bring peace to a place that has not known a quiet day because of Onsae.

The EBS "There Is No Such Thing as a Bad Dog" episode, "Our Village's Pride, Jeongeup Bulgae," will be broadcast on EBS 1TV on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at 10:00 PM, and can be viewed again on the EBS website.
