Lee Hye-sung shares stories of youth loneliness and comfort at Community Chest of Korea talk concert
Broadcaster Lee Hye-sung hosted the first "The Fresh Green Lounge" talk concert with the Community Chest of Korea, discussing youth struggles and the importance of sharing.
The Community Chest of Korea held its first talk concert, "The Fresh Green Lounge," on the 17th with its ambassador, broadcaster Lee Hye-sung. Approximately 120 citizens attended the event to share stories centered on the themes of youth concerns and comfort.
During the event, titled "Lee Hye-sung's Youth Bears Fruit," Lee gave a lecture on the topic "The Age of Loneliness: What Comforts Me." She addressed the reality of it being difficult to find someone who truly understands you even when connected to others online, and shared her personal experiences of finding solace through reading and works of art.
“I found comfort in my loneliness by indirectly experiencing the lives of people in different times and spaces through works of art such as books, movies, and music,” Lee said. “I believe there are also books, movies, music, and people by your side that offer you comfort.”
The lecture was followed by a session of pre-submitted and on-site questions and answers. Regarding her motivation for joining the Honor Society, Lee explained that she decided to join after seeing the practice of sharing by Choi Tae-sung. She stated, “I realized that donation is not something only wealthy people do, but a matter of being mindful of what one has to share happiness with others.”
The dialogue and Q&A session, which focused on personal experiences, proceeded in a way that connected the act of sharing with the everyday concerns of the younger generation. This was the first time the Community Chest of Korea organized a talk concert with its ambassador, and Secretary General Jin Seok-beom expressed hope that the time would allow attendees to share their hearts with one another.
