Jung-eun lives with both hearing and physical disabilities. It is difficult for her to hear sounds without a hearing aid, and her curved spine presses against her bronchial tubes, requiring daily respiratory therapy. Despite this, Jung-eun does not lose her positive energy, enjoying activities like imitating idol group dances or practicing art.

Spine curved over 65 degrees, surgery is urgent

Jung-eun's spine is currently in a state of severe scoliosis, curved more than 65 degrees. Specialists warned that surgery must be considered even if the curve exceeds 40 degrees, and if left untreated, it could threaten her life due to the decline of cardiopulmonary function. However, the surgery and treatment costs, which amount to 20 million to 30 million won, are difficult to afford with only basic livelihood security benefits and the part-time income of her mother, Park Ji-hye.

Her mother, Park Ji-hye, lives with a constant sense of guilt, feeling that her daughter was born with disabilities due to the imprisonment she experienced during the process of defecting from North Korea. However, Jung-eun instead comforts her mother and acts as a reliable pillar of support.
