Popera tenor Lim Hyung-joo successfully led the 'Hannam Night' eve event for the global art fair 'Kiaf SEOUL' just six months after being appointed chairperson of the Yongsan Cultural Foundation. Popera tenor Lim Hyung-joo has successfully led 'Hannam Night,' an eve event for the world-class art fair 'Kiaf SEOUL,' just six months after his inauguration as the first Chairperson of the Yongsan Cultural Foundation. Held on the 1st at the Yongsan Cultural Foundation building, this event featured major domestic and international galleries presenting a special exhibition under the theme 'Time Difference: Now and Here,' and was attended by a large number of local political figures and members of the culture and arts community.
The Yongsan Cultural Foundation, which launched as the 23rd among Seoul's 25 autonomous districts, is rapidly settling in under Chairperson Lim Hyung-joo's leadership by cooperating with major institutions such as the Amorepacific Foundation. In particular, it is showing moves rarely seen in existing public foundations, such as being selected as a preliminary base for the government-funded project 'Dream Dance Company' and signing Memorandums of Understanding (MOU) with major institutions.
Appointed as the youngest-ever head of a public arts institution among Seoul's autonomous districts at the age of 39, Chairperson Lim is proving his capabilities as an arts administrator, washing away concerns regarding his lack of administrative experience. Chairperson Lim expressed his ambition to continue seeking support measures for the sustainability of the local culture and arts community in cooperation with the foundation's members. The ongoing exhibition 'Time Difference: Now and Here' will continue until the 12th.
