The Mapo Youth Center will host a screening on October 23 featuring videos produced by students from "Attic" after-school academy, Myongji Middle School, and Hangang Media High School. These works, created through the "Uniformed Heroes Plus" project, honor personnel such as police officers and firefighters following field experiences and safety training conducted since June.

The Mapo Youth Center will host a screening on October 23 for videos produced by youth centered on the theme of uniformed personnel. The event serves to share the results of the "Uniformed Heroes Plus" project, conducted as a veterans' theme activity by the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, and provides an opportunity for youth to express their gratitude to uniformed workers, including police officers and firefighters.

Since June, the center has conducted activities for students from the "Attic" after-school academy, Myongji Middle School, and Hangang Media High School. Support for job introductions, safety training, and field experiences was provided by the Seoul Mapo Police Station, Hongik Police Substation, Seoul Mapo Fire Station, and Seoul Seodaemun Fire Station.

Based on these experiences, participating youth decided on the themes and genres of their videos and took part in planning, filming, and editing. Students from "Attic" learned about the duties of firefighters alongside the Seoul Mapo Fire Station, mastered cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the use of automated external defibrillators (AED), and produced a short drama and various other video formats. Students from Hangang Media High School utilized their majors and production experience to plan videos, while students from Myongji Middle School participated in visiting a fire station and undergoing vocational and video training, managing everything from storyboard creation to editing.

The video production also extended to activities expressing gratitude to the local community. On September 19, the youth operated a gratitude booth at the "2026 Seoul Northwest Youth Festival," and on October 15, they held an event at Myongji Middle School involving writing gratitude messages and participating in safety-related experiences. A defining feature of this project is that the youth directly participated in everything from production to the delivery of messages, allowing them to examine the roles of uniformed personnel in relation to daily life.

The screening will feature public service announcements, music videos, and variety-show style works, including the short drama "Hello?" produced by the "Attic" youth. The works capture the roles and dedication of uniformed personnel, such as police officers, firefighters, prison officers, soldiers, and coast guards, from a youth perspective. The event will be attended by the participating youth, school officials, local residents, and uniformed personnel from related agencies, and the youth plan to present appreciation plaques to those who supported their activities.

“Through the process of directly exploring the duties of uniformed personnel and capturing them in video, the youth have developed a deep respect for the ordinary heroes in our daily lives,” said Ha Jung-rae, director of the Mapo Youth Center. Following the screening, the center plans to share the produced videos and post them online.
